The Department features experts on global competitive trends in the field of construction engineering, integrated with structure, materials, geotech, construction management and architecture. The department also focuses on five main areas including national trends vis-à-vis global change, construction facility maintenance and accident prevention, construction material development, construction safety and disaster prevention, project management innovation and integration and property management.

In terms of instruction and research, the Department focuses on construction facility maintenance and accident prevention, engineering disaster prevention, new construction methods, materials research and development, construction equipment development, building automation, project planning and management, construction practices, and property management. The faculty also works to improve foreign language skills, improve construction engineering efficiency and quality, strengthen student autonomy and competitiveness, and cultivate construction engineering and management talent to meet current and future demands both domestically and globally.

The Geotechnical Disaster Prevention and Trackwork Research Center not only provides access to off-campus professional services, but also works with the Department to conduct research and instructional activities related to construction materials.
